Large Projects

  • Regeneration Solutions P/L was contracted by the Albury Wodonga Development Corporation to assist in developing a series of strategies across their estate (~ 9000ha) to both protect the environmental assets contained on those lands whilst allowing for Urban and Industrial development of both cities.
  • This resulted in Ian Davidson being the principal author of the Thurgoona Threatened Species Conservation Strategy, Albury Ranges Threatened Species Conservation Strategy and Wodonga Retained Environmental Network (WREN) Strategy.
  • These strategies have been agreed to by the Commonwealth, NSW and Victorian State Governments and the Albury City and Wodonga City Councils and have led to the boundaries (protecting ~1500ha of environmental values) recommended in the strategies being recognized in local government zoning, with long term Commonwealth funding for their management.
  • The first plan- the Thurgoona Threatened Species Conservation Strategy was recognized by the Planning Institute of Australia in the field of Environmental Planning for Conservation and received the National Award for Planning Excellence in 2005.

Medium Projects

  • Developing a strategy for Department of Sustainability and Environment in Victoria to improve on-ground biodiversity conservation outcomes in priority landscapes in NE Victoria, including setting stewardship and restoration guidelines (currently being implemented).
  • Developing a rapid assessment program for determining conservation management of (~800) travelling stock reserves in Southern NSW.
  • Develop local assessment and management guidelines for the Box-Gum Woodland endangered ecological community (EEC) for NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and Environment Australia.

Small Projects

  • Preparing a Biodiversity Conservation Management Plan for Charles Sturt University (Thurgoona Campus)
  • Biodiversity study component of West Corrugan Land and Water Management Plan.
  • Expert local knowledge of threatened flora and fauna enables Regeneration Solutions P/L to efficiently prepare credible environments at assessments on potential impacts of e.g. Test of significance for threatened species.
